During the last few days there has been an awakening in our youth. The reason is many of them were able to stand, shoulder to shoulder, with over twenty thousand other young people, joining their praise together in one accord, to the one and only living God.
There is something which takes place in the heart of an individual, when they realize they are not the only one who believes this message. There is a strength built inside them when they understand they are not alone in this journey.
It is wonderful to be able to recollect the blessings of youth congress. It’s great to remember experiences from conventions and conferences we’ve attended. It’s good to be able to recall memories of past youth camps. These events are necessary and they should be landmarks in our lives. We should continually carry what was committed to us by God during these meetings. We should never allow ourselves to forget His power, and the anointing, we felt in these gatherings.
But sad to say we are not able to continually live in the atmosphere of conferences and conventions. Most of our lives are not spent in the environment of youth congress. It comes down to walking into your school alone, or in to your place of business by yourself. It is in these times we need to understand the power of one.
So often in life we feel as though the little bit we add, to the overall scheme of living, has very little significance. During these times we can begin to feel useless and depressed. The enemy loves to use these feelings to cause us to lose sight of our possibilities and potential. He wants us to look at ourselves, and our inabilities. He wants us to see the lack we have in ourselves. He does not want us to understand the power we have been given and what it is we possess. He doesn’t want us to understand the power of one when that one is given over to the God who controls all that is and all that ever will be.
When Jesus was on the earth there were circumstances when the disciples would find themselves looking at the situations around them. They would lose focus of the power which was with them. During one of these instances a multitude had been following Jesus all day. When He saw the need of the people, in that they were hungry, He told his disciples to have them sit down, then He told them to feed them. It was Andrew who found a young boy with a small lunch. But when presented with the idea of feeding the thousands he showed his lack faith by asking the question, “But what is this among so many?” Andrew was a man who recognized the power of Jesus, but he still had doubts concerning the situation. Yet when this one small lunch was placed in the hands of Jesus it became enough to feed thousands.
When ONE man, Noah, was willing to listen to the voice of God it was enough to save a world. When ONE man, Moses, was willing to be led by God it was enough for a nation of millions to be delivered from the grip of Egypt’s bondage. When ONE Shepherd boy was willing to use ONE small stone it was enough to defeat a giant. When ONE prophet was willing to face 850 wicked prophets and their false god, the true and living God was able display His power and bring victory to a nation.
At times you may think of yourself as insignificant. You may believe yourself to be unimportant, but remember in the hands of the great God of all the ages, the smallest flame is capable of piercing the deepest darkness.
It doesn’t matter if you are standing in a group of unbelievers at your school, or with multiplied tens of thousands at a youth congress. What matters is, are you one that God is able to use.
If you are one of God’s own, then there is an unbeatable power in your ONE, because with God ONE is never insignificant!
