‘The View’ Co-Host Thought Justin Bieber’s Claim About God Was a ‘Little Strange’ — Until Candace Cameron Bure Explained an Important Detail

Actress and newly minted “The View” co-host Candace Cameron Bure responded to pop star Justin Bieber’s recent proclamation that he wants to “honestly live like Jesus” by delivering a pointed lesson about Christianity.

She also corrected a fellow co-host who felt like one of the pop stars’ comments about God in a recent interview with Complex magazine was a “little strange,” noting that his words actually came from the Bible.

“When someone says they’re a Christian, it doesn’t mean they’re perfect. They are just a recognized sinner in need of God’s grace — and so that’s all Justin is saying. He recognizes that,” Bure said during a segment on “The View” on Tuesday. “He’s not going to say I’m a Christian and now all of the sudden I’m an angel.”

She said that Bieber has most certainly made mistakes in the past and will likely continue to do so, but said that he “has the chance to make good decisions, and we should applaud him and encourage him to continue being a good role model.”
