Speculation has been rampant about President Donald Trump’s decision regarding the Paris Climate Accords, negotiated by former President Barack Hussein Obama. The media reported that White House insiders were predicting that the administration would withdraw.
On Thursday, President Trump made a statement saying that he has decided to withdraw from the Paris Accord, saying that it is “unfair” to the American people. He spoke from the Rose Garden of the White House after being introduced by Vice President Mike Pence.
President Trump began by saying that he is monitoring the situation in Manila and saying that his recent journey to Europe was “a very very successful trip,” adding that he will add jobs to America.
He shifted the conversation to discuss the Paris Climate Accords saying at the beginning that he is withdrawing from the agreement. He opened up with, “I don’t want anything to get in our way.” Adding, “Therefore, in order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America… the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord.”
