Our 50th episode! We kick off our newest series “Church of the Half-Truth” with a discussion of the culture and history of Ephesus according the secular and biblical sources. Pre-Christian Ephesus was the center of worship for the goddess Artemis. The worship of Artemis was heavily women led – mostly for all the wrong reasons. The cult of Artemis created false empowerment for women. However, in many ways, these “half-truths” are still prevalent in our secular and church culture today – making us a modern reflection of those ancient half-truths.
